What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Customer Information

From all customers we collect names, email addresses and physical address information. We collect this information for two reasons. First to provide you service we need a method of communications and a name, this accounts for the name and email. Secondarily we collect a physical address as a fraud deterrent, this is our only method of validating who has and has not had service and greatly cuts down on credit card fraud. This information is used internally and provided to our billing partner, currently Stripe, to facilitate billing for service. Other than that WE DO NOT share any of this with anyone unless legally compelled to do so.

As you use our service you may upload any form of data that you choose to so long as that data is lawful and our service is not being used to facilitate illegal activity. We do not WANT to see your data and strongly suggest you encrypt it.

As you use our service you will generate logging data that includes your IP address and potential metadata about the information you store and/or commands entered in an interactive shell. This metadata will be retained by us for the purposes of system security for aprox. 1 year.
